Georgia’s Ambassador to the United States, Tamar Taliashvili, held a meeting with US Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma, a member of the Senate Committees on Appropriations, Armed Services, Health, and Indian Affairs, the Georgian Embassy in Washington reported.

According to the embassy, the discussion focused on prospects for deepening US - Georgia relations.

In this context, Ambassador Taliashvili highlighted Senator Mullin’s personal contribution to supporting the development of bilateral ties and expressed gratitude for his stance as a “true friend of Georgia.”

The two sides also reviewed the current situation in the region, discussed recent developments, and touched upon the significance of President Donald Trump’s peace initiatives.

In addition, they exchanged views on opportunities in the international arena, the statement said.
