Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze on Wednesday announced the initiation of a new phase of the Learn and Get Employed programME during a meeting of the capital municipality government.

Citizens interested in enhancing their employability and skill sets will now have the opportunity to participate in relevant courses without any associated fees, the city hall press office said.

“We recognize the challenges surrounding employment in our country – there are numerous individuals seeking job opportunities, while the business sector seeks qualified personnel. Hence, we are commencing a new phase of one of our most successful initiatives – the Learn and Get Employed programme,” said Kaladze.

Starting from April 10 until May 1, interested citizens can register online via the platform www.dasakmdi.ge. The program aims to provide short-term professional courses tailored to the demands of the labor market, thereby facilitating employment opportunities in collaboration with the private sector. These courses will be provided to registered Tbilisi citizens free of charge.

Kaladze disclosed that this year, 15 new specializations have been incorporated into the programme, expanding the total number of specialties available for training/retraining to 65. The municipality will cover the expenses for participants enrolled in these courses.

“Up to 1,000 citizens will benefit from training/retraining under the current programme. Over the past few years, more than 9,000 individuals have undergone retraining, with a commendable employment rate of approximately 70% upon completion. Additionally, we have another announcement for our citizens – for those opting for online courses and requiring suitable study spaces, we are offering free access to workspaces within newly renovated multi-functional libraries for the entire duration of the educational programme,” added Kaladze.
