The Tbilisi Court of Appeals has upheld the verdict of the first-instance court, keeping “Lelo – Strong Georgia” leader Mamuka Khazaradze in prison.

According to Giorgi Sioridze, a member of the party’s political council, the court complied with the “demands” of Bidzina Ivanishvili and refused to question key witnesses.

Khazaradze was convicted under Article 349 of the Georgian Criminal Code, which pertains to failure to comply with the lawful request of a temporary parliamentary investigative commission. His defense team plans to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
