Georgian police arrest suspect on major drug trafficking following undercover operation

Tbilisi police have arrested one individual on serious drug-related charges, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia announced on Wednesday. The suspect, identified as G.M., born in 1987, is accused of illegally purchasing, possessing, and distributing large quantities of narcotic substances.
According to the statement, investigators from the Main Investigative Department and the Main Detective (Operative) Department of the Tbilisi Police carried out a series of covert operations and investigative activities based on a court order. The suspect was allegedly caught selling narcotics during multiple controlled purchases, all of which were audio and video recorded as part of the operation.
During a search of the suspect's person and residence, police seized significant amounts of various illegal drugs, including cocaine, alpha-PVP, and clephedrone. Additionally, investigators found materials used for packaging narcotics, an electronic scale, and cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
The Ministry reported that the charges fall under Articles 260 (Part 1 and Part 2, subparagraph “a”) and Article 260³ (Part 5, subparagraph “a”) of Georgia’s Criminal Code. If convicted, G.M. faces a prison sentence of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
