Tbilisoba to be celebrated across five locations on 3-4 October

Georgia’s capital will host this year’s Tbilisoba festival on 3 and 4 October, with celebrations taking place across five locations in what Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze described as the largest-scale programme yet.

Speaking at a municipal government meeting on Tuesday, Kaladze said events would be held at Rike Park, Orbeliani Square, Gudiashvili Square, Legvtakhevi and the Europe Square–Metekhi Bridge area.

Visitors will be offered a programme of cultural, entertainment, educational and recreational activities. The festival sites will feature decorations and installations, photo zones, rest areas and an open-air cinema.

The programme will also include craft and gastronomic areas showcasing Georgian and international cuisine, culinary demonstrations and masterclasses, fast-food outlets, and exhibitions and tastings of traditional sweets, honey and wine, as well as modern confectionery.

Children’s concerts, entertainment and sports activities will be held throughout the day at the various locations, while both evenings will conclude with live music and theatrical performances.

The ceremony honouring Tbilisi’s honorary citizens will take place on 4 October at 20:00 local time and will be broadcast live, Kaladze said.

Tbilisoba is an annual celebration of Tbilisi and its cultural heritage, traditionally featuring concerts, exhibitions, food, wine and public events across the city. The mayor’s office said the full programme would be available on the official Tbilisi municipality website.
