Officers of the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department under Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested a 1984-born man, N.A., previously convicted and currently serving a suspended sentence, on charges of car theft.

The Ministry on Monday said investigations determined that the suspect stole five vehicles at different times in the Vake-Saburtalo district and fled the scenes.

A search of the suspect’s residence led law enforcement to recover some of the stolen items as evidence.

The crime carries a penalty of up to five years of imprisonment.
