Police in Tbilisi have arrested a man on charges of illegally purchasing, possessing and facilitating the sale of a large quantity of narcotics, Georgia’s interior ministry said on Tuesday.

Officers from the patrol police department’s Tbilisi main division stopped the suspect for a routine check. The detainee, identified as O.M., was born in 2001 and has a previous criminal conviction, the Ministry press office said.

During a personal search, police seized 20 packages of the narcotic substance alpha-PVP, which investigators say had been prepared for sale.
