Two people have been arrested in Tbilisi on suspicion of attempted murder, group violence and concealing a particularly serious crime, Georgia's Interior Ministry said on Thursday.
According to investigators, the incident took place in the Old Tbilisi district following an altercation between the suspects and a young man.
Authorities said the victim was physically assaulted during the confrontation, and one of the suspects allegedly used a bladed weapon, causing injuries.
The injured man was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Police officers from the Old Tbilisi Division of the Tbilisi Police Department launched an investigation and carried out a series of operative and investigative measures. Both suspects were subsequently detained shortly after the incident, the ministry said.
If convicted, the suspects could face up to 15 years in prison.
