In the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi, a young man became unwell outside the Iranian Embassy after learning that a family member had been killed during anti-government protests in Iran.
The demonstration, which brought together Iranian citizens living in Georgia, was joined by participants of ongoing protests against the Tehran regime.
Earlier, it was reported that civil activist Nutsa Makharadze was detained during the gathering.
Mass anti-government protests in Iran began on December 28 following the national currency’s historic drop, which triggered rapid price increases and social unrest. The demonstrations, taking place in dozens of cities, combine socio-economic demands with calls for political change.
Media reports indicate that the death toll has reached at least 12,000 and could potentially rise to 20,000.
