Three foreign nationals are among five people arrested in Tbilisi on drug-related charges, Georgia's Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.
Officers from the Vake-Saburtalo and Gldani-Nadzaladevi divisions of the Tbilisi Police Department arrested the five suspects at different times as part of an investigation into drug offences.
Police said searches of the suspects, their homes and other locations uncovered particularly large quantities of marijuana and alpha-PVP allegedly prepared for sale.
As part of covert investigative measures, police also seized drugs allegedly sold by one of the suspects.
Investigators recovered materials used for packaging narcotics, the ministry said.
The offences carry a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
