Two arrested in Tbilisi over violent robbery, one is a minor

Two people, including one minor, have been arrested in Tbilisi on suspicion of carrying out a robbery with violence as part of a group acting by prior agreement, Georgia's Interior Ministry said on Monday.

The suspects allegedly physically assaulted two people in Tbilisi before stealing their expensive mobile phones and fleeing the scene.

Police from the Old Tbilisi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department arrested the suspects following operational and investigative measures, the ministry said.

The crime carries a sentence of up to eight years in prison.
