Police in Tbilisi have arrested a foreign national accused of illegally possessing a particularly large quantity of the synthetic drug Alpha-PVP and facilitating its sale, Georgia’s Interior Ministry said on Thursday.
Officers from the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department arrested the suspect as part of an investigation into the alleged possession and distribution of the drug.
Police found a particularly large quantity of Alpha-PVP during a personal search of the suspect and through investigative actions at several locations in Tbilisi.
The drug was allegedly prepared for sale and divided into 70 packages, the ministry said.
If convicted, the offences can carry a sentence of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
