Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has successfully passed an international surveillance audit, confirming that its election management system continues to meet the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 international quality management standard, the commission said on Monday.

The assessment was conducted in two stages. An internal audit was carried out on 24 July 2026 by an auditor from Management Systems LLC, followed by a remote surveillance audit on 2 September 2026 by international certification body LL-C (Certification) Czech Republic a.s.

The commission said it had successfully passed both audits and retained its ISO 9001:2015 certification.

The international auditor’s assessment said one of the strengths of the Georgian election administration is its ability to operate effectively in a complex and changing environment.

“Despite political fluctuations, attempts to spread disinformation and information pressure, the election administration effectively fulfils its constitutional obligations to the Georgian people,” the auditor said, as quoted by the CEC.

The audit also confirmed that the commission’s management system meets the relevant standard requirements and is capable of ensuring the continuous delivery of services in line with customer requirements, applicable laws and regulations.

The CEC said the assessment covered its strategic goals and objectives, ongoing activities and projects, services, monitoring and reporting mechanisms.

The commission described the renewed certification as another step in its ongoing efforts to improve quality management, strengthen institutional development and enhance operational efficiency.

The ISO 9001:2015 standard provides an internationally recognised framework for quality management, helping organisations improve processes, transparency and customer-focused services.

The CEC first received the certification in 2019, becoming the first election administration among Eastern Partnership countries to obtain it, according to the commission.
