One arrested in Georgia over illegal possession of firearms, ammunition, drugs

Officers of the Tetritskaro District Division of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have arrested one individual on charges of illegal purchase and possession of firearms, ammunition and narcotics.
The Ministry said police carried out a search of the suspect’s residential house and outbuildings in Tetritskaro municipality, during which they seized an automatic firearm, a hunting rifle, a pistol, a magazine and 35 rounds of ammunition of various calibres as evidence.
Law enforcement officers also seized a quantity of dried marijuana.
The crime is punishable by up to six years in prison.
