Adjara Supreme Council Speaker Tsotne Ananidze has accused Georgia’s opposition and former president Salome Zourabichvili of attributing political developments in different countries to Russia.
In a social media post on Monday, Ananidze said opposition figures repeatedly invoked Russian President Vladimir Putin when commenting on events in the United States, Georgia and France.
“Look at Salome Zourabichvili’s and the opposition’s rhetoric - there are elections in America - Putin, Bidzina Ivanishvili and developments in Georgia - Putin, events in France - Putin,” Ananidze wrote.
He also referred to what he called the “Chelyabinsk syndrome”, describing it as a label that, in his view, had become characteristic of the opposition’s approach.
