The chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Tsotne Ananidze, has cited currently imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili’s record in Ukraine while criticising his proposal to create a new reform council within the United National Movement (UNM).
Saakashvili proposed that the party establish an interim governing body and a council of reformers, which he would chair, with television presenter Nanuka Zhorzholiani serving as executive secretary.
“A foreign citizen [Saakashvili holds Ukrainian citizenship] is creating a reform council within the UNM. The reforms of Ukrainian citizen Saakashvili are clearly visible in Ukraine, including in terms of corruption,” Ananidze wrote.
