Two inmates die in Rustavi Prison fire

Two inmates died in a fire in Rustavi Prison No.17 yesterday which broke out in the afternoon. 

 

It has been reported that the fire broke out in a dinery of the prison. 

 

Six emergency brigades with 11 fire engines were working to extinguish the fire. 

 

The No.17 prison is quite close to the No.12 prison of Rustavi, where Georgia’s ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili is serving his term. 

 

Police are investigating the incident.
