Two activists from the youth wing of the United National Movement (UNM) opposition party have been arrested earlier today for disobedience to police at the building of Georgia’s National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commision.

The demonstrators were protesting the increase in electricity fee and were demanding a meeting with the agency head, former Tbilisi mayor, David Narmania.

The activists claim that they were leaving the site, as law enforcers told them to change the location, when Giorgi Tsulaia and Dimitri Bidzinashvili were arrested.

Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili stated earlier today that the government will subsidize the electricity fee for the socially vulnerable people, for about one million individuals.
