Ukraine insists on full embargo for Russian oil, gas

Ukraine has insisted on a full embargo for Russian oil and gas, Ukrainian FM Dmytro Kuleba has tweeted. 

“Buying them now means paying for the murder of Ukrainian men, women and children. I welcome the first decisive steps by a number of European states in this regard and urge others to proceed resolutely and without delay,” Kuleba said. Ukraine says that a confrontation between it and Russia has become a European war. 

The EU is scheduled to impose new sanctions against Russia later today. 

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has put nuclear forces at high alert.
