Ukraine receives Challenger 2 tanks from UK

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine on Tuesday confirmed the country had received Challenger 2 tanks from Great Britain.

Minister of Defense Oleksii Reznikov published a video of the tanks on his official Twitter account. 

“It was a pleasure to take the first Ukrainian Challenger 2 MBT for a spin. Such tanks, supplied by the United Kingdom, have recently arrived in our country. These fantastic machines will soon begin their combat missions” , he said.

The UK government announced in January 2023 it would deliver 14 Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian servicemembers trained to run the tanks have already returned to the country.
