Ukraine has suspended diplomatic relations with Russia amid the latter’s move to fully invade the country following the recent recognition of Ukraine’s Donetsk and Luhansk regions as independent states.

The Ukrainian president has announced the suspension of diplomatic relations at a briefing earlier today, BBC reports.

The news agency also cites Zelensky as saying that the Ukrainian government will hand over weapons to anyone who wishes to defend the country.
