Russian occupiers aimed at the building of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, Lyudmyla Denisova, the Commissioner for Human Rights in Ukraine, reported on Wednesday.

Denisova wrote that the Russian army attacked a building marked with a red cross on a white background, ‘indicating the presence of wounded, civilian or humanitarian cargo.’

“Until now, the only ones who shelled buildings and vehicles marked with red crosses were the troops of Hitler’s Germany,” she noted.

The Ukrainian public advocate called on the international community to condemn the attack and take measures to end the Russian invasion of Ukraine ‘as soon as possible.’
