The US Embassy in Georgia has extended its deepest condolences following the death of His Holiness, Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II. 

In a statement on Wednesday, the Embassy highlighted the Patriarch’s lifelong dedication to Georgia’s spiritual and cultural heritage, saying his life and enduring legacy will always be remembered.

“The United States joins the people of Georgia in mourning his loss and prays that his soul may rest in peace,” the statement added.
