The US will provide another $1 billion in aid to Ukraine, of which more than $665 million will be spent on security, the US State Secretary Antony Blinken announced while in Kyiv on Wednesday.

He also said that Washington would transfer to Ukraine the properties confiscated from sanctioned Russian oligarchs, which will be used to support the veterans of the Ukrainian army.

The Secretary of State did not name a specific amount at the press briefing, however, according to the information published on the official website of the State Department, which deals with assistance to Ukraine in various fields, 5.4 million dollars confiscated from Russian oligarchs will be spent to support the reintegration and rehabilitation of Ukrainian veterans.

The US has provided $43.2 billion in military aid to Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, $2.9 billion in humanitarian aid, and $20.5 billion in budgetary aid to the war-torn country, the State Department said.
