New sanctions of the international community against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine will be canceled if Russia stops hostilities, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland told TASS in an interview.

“The sanctions will end if he [Russian President Vladimir Putin – TASS] ends this war, and helps rebuild Ukraine and reestablishes peace and recognizes the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and right to exist,” Nuland said.

Russia invaded Ukraine last week.

Prior to this the country raised demands towards the US and NATO which included the refusal by NATO to add Georgia and Ukraine as new members in the future.
