Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has announced plans to implement several joint projects with Georgia, citing Georgia's dynamic and positive economic development. Speaking at a press conference alongside Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Orbán highlighted the flourishing collaboration between the two nations.
Orbán noted that the Hungarian airline Wizz Air, a leader in the Georgian aviation market, now operates 28 routes from its Georgian hub. "For the first time in history, Wizz Air has surpassed $100 million in revenue, setting a new record," he said.
He also emphasized the growing trade and freight traffic between the two countries, with Hungarian pharmaceutical products exported to Georgia and joint efforts in the energy sector. According to Orbán, a five-country working group has been established to facilitate the supply of green electricity produced in the Caucasus to Hungary and, subsequently, to the European Union.
"The Ukrainian blockade of all energy supply channels to the EU makes this initiative especially important," Orbán added. "This route will be vital for economic activities, and we will continue to make similar decisions with our Georgian friends in the future."
Concluding his remarks, Orbán reaffirmed Hungary's commitment to deepening cooperation with Georgia, given the latter's strong and steadily growing economy.
