Analyst Anjaparidze: conspirators acted ‘very primitively’, trail may lead to other public figures

Political analyst Zaal Anjaparidze on Thursday commented on the detention of former Defence Minister Bacho Akhalaia in connection with the October 4 case, saying the arrest was only a matter of time.

In a post on social media, Anjaparidze stated that those involved in an alleged attempt to violently overthrow the Government acted in an unsophisticated manner, adding that it cannot be ruled out that the investigation may extend to other well-known public figures.

He also suggested that certain individuals had hoped to return to the presidential residence “on a white horse” amid unrest, referring to what he described as ambitions tied to an attempted uprising.
