Zelenskyy says anti-ballistic missiles should protect lives, not remain in storage

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said European anti-ballistic missiles should not remain in storage while Russian missile attacks on Ukraine continue.

He said strengthening Ukraine’s air defence was particularly important as Russia continues to use ballistic missiles against the country.

Zelenskyy said North Korean-made ballistic missiles used by Russia were damaging infrastructure in Ukraine and putting civilian lives at risk.

“People’s lives must be protected, and Russia must be stopped,” the Ukrainian president said.

He added that every new military assistance package provided by Ukraine’s partners translates into lives saved and critical infrastructure protected on a daily basis.
