Zelenskyy - Ukraine will hold elections if Putin agrees to a 60-day ceasefire

Ukraine is ready to hold a new presidential election if Russian dictator Vladimir Putin agrees to a 60-day ceasefire, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an interview with ABC News.

"If President Trump really wants to have some changes, please tell Putin, give us two months - 60 days of total ceasefire, 60 days, and we will organize elections. And, of course, we will be ready for any choice of our people - specifically, the Ukrainian people," Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian president's statement comes after US President Donald Trump publicly called on the Ukrainian people to elect a new leader.

In light of recent events, Zelenskyy reminded Trump that holding elections during a war is very difficult, but it would be possible if Putin meets his demands.

The President also responded to American billionaire Elon Musk's comment that he had "gone too far" and should step down.

"These people (Trump and Musk) cannot find the key to stopping Putin. Because stopping Putin is harder than putting pressure on others. Because it's easier to talk about prices and link it to Ukraine. When everyone in the world realizes that prices are rising because of the war in the Middle East, because of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, because of these reasons. Everyone understands this," Zelenskyy said.

At the same time, as he noted, despite all due respect to President Trump, it is up to the Ukrainian society and people to choose which leader they want.
