Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for increased global pressure on Russia, stating that the current efforts are not enough to end the ongoing war. In a post on X, Zelenskyy provided an update on the battlefield situation, noting that fierce fighting continues across multiple directions.

According to him, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that by midday alone, Ukrainian forces had repelled nearly 70 Russian assaults. Zelenskyy emphasized the resilience of Ukrainian soldiers, particularly in the Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, Lyman, and Kursk directions, where the heaviest fighting is taking place.

“Our forces continue active defensive operations in designated areas of the Kursk and Belgorod regions,” Zelenskyy said, praising the steadfastness of Ukraine’s defenders.

Special recognition was given to the 3rd Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine for its exceptional performance in the Pokrovsk direction, as well as the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces. Zelenskyy also highlighted the contributions of the 225th and 425th Separate Assault Regiments, the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade, and the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade.

The Ukrainian leader stressed that Russia’s ongoing military activity and refusal to agree to a ceasefire proposal demonstrate that stronger international action is needed. He reminded the world that it has been nearly 50 days since Russia ignored the United States’ proposal for a full and unconditional ceasefire, which Ukraine accepted on March 11.

“More tangible pressure on Russia is needed to create more opportunities for real diplomacy,” Zelenskyy urged, thanking all nations and individuals who continue to stand with Ukraine.
