Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday said all Russian defence facilities involved in Moscow's war against Ukraine were "legitimate targets" after Ukrainian forces struck a major military-industrial plant in Russia's Volgograd overnight.
"All Russian defence facilities involved in the war against Ukraine are legitimate targets for our long-range sanctions. Last night, FP-5 Flamingo missiles successfully struck the Titan-Barrikady facility in Volgograd," Zelenskyy said.
The Titan-Barrikady plant is one of Russia's key defence enterprises, producing launchers for the Iskander-M tactical missile system, Yars and Topol-M strategic missile systems, as well as the newer Oreshnik system.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine would continue expanding the reach of its long-range strikes, adding that sustained pressure on Russia was essential to achieving a "just peace." He also thanked Ukrainian engineers and military personnel involved in developing the country's long-range strike capabilities.
Separately, Ukraine's General Staff said its Defence Forces had also destroyed a Pantsir-S1 air defence system in Feodosia and a motor ferry near Kerch allegedly used by Russian forces for military logistics in southern Ukraine.
The General Staff added that Ukrainian strikes also targeted Russian command posts in the Kharkiv and Belgorod regions, as well as two drone control centres in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region.
