Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday said he had met with the country’s negotiating team ahead of a new round of trilateral talks, which he expects to take place in the coming days, possibly as early as Wednesday and Thursday.

In a social media post on X, Zelenskyy said almost all members of the negotiating team attended the preparatory meeting, including Rustem Umerov, Kyrylo Budanov, Sergiy Kyslytsya, Andrii Hnatov and Oleksandr Bevz. David Arakhamia is also set to take part in the negotiations. The President said he had approved the frameworks for the talks and assigned specific tasks to the delegation.

Zelenskyy added the Ukrainian delegation will also hold bilateral meetings with representatives of the United States. He stressed that Ukraine is ready for “real steps” and believes it is possible to achieve a “dignified and lasting peace”.

Zelenskyy said that the bilateral security guarantees document with the United States is considered complete on Ukraine’s side, with further substantive work expected on agreements related to recovery and economic development.

He also expressed hope that the United States would remain decisive in helping to create the conditions necessary for dialogue. The President noted that de-escalation measures that came into effect overnight from Thursday to Friday were contributing to public trust in the negotiation process and its potential outcome.

“The war needs to be ended,” Zelenskyy said, thanking international partners for their support.
