Pataradze described Qurban Bayram as a symbol of charity, solidarity and mutual support, saying the values further strengthened the centuries-old tradition of friendship and respect in the region

Head of the Government of Adjara Zurab Pataradze has congratulated the region’s Muslim community on the occasion of Qurban Bayram.

Pataradze attended celebrations together with the Chair of the Supreme Council of Adjara Tsotne Ananidze, Batumi Mayor Giorgi Tsintsadze and members of the regional government.

Speaking during the event, Pataradze described Qurban Bayram as a symbol of charity, solidarity and mutual support, saying the values further strengthened the centuries-old tradition of friendship and respect in the region.

He also highlighted what he described as unity between religious communities in Georgia, recalling the support shown by the Muslim community during the mourning period following the death of the Catholicos-Patriarch.

According to Pataradze, the decision by Muslim believers to refrain from celebrating Ramadan Bayram during that period demonstrated mutual respect and solidarity within Georgian society.

Festive prayers marking Qurban Bayram were held at the central mosque in Batumi.
