Juansher Burchuladze - Significant Progress was achieved in US-Georgia Strategic Partnership in Recent Years

"Through multinational exercises, we deepen cooperation and increase the capabilities of our defense forces" - Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze said at the closing ceremony of the multinational military exercise Agile Spirit 2021.

 

The Defense Minister stressed the importance of international exercises for Georgia. Juansher Burchuladze also spoke about the strategic goal of such exercises and noted that the multinational military exercise helps the Georgian Defense Forces to deepen cooperation with the main strategic partner, the United States, and increase compatibility with NATO. According to the Minister, by conducting such training at a high level, our country has reaffirmed its commitment to common, Western values.

 

"Through multinational exercises, we deepen cooperation and increase the capabilities of our defense forces. By raising interoperability, we are getting closer to NATO standards and contributing to regional stability and peace" - Juansher Burchuladze said. 

 

The Minister of Defense also stressed the distinctive scale and symbolic significance of Agile Spirit 2021. According to the Minister, during the last 10 years, the Georgian military, together with the military servicemen of the partner countries, has conducted unprecedented exercises. 

 

The 10th anniversary exercise Agile Spirit 2021 was organized by the Western Command of the Georgian Defense Forces and the US Army Command in Europe and Africa. Military personnel from 12 NATO member and 3 partner countries participated in the exercise.

 

The international exercise aimed to increase interoperability between NATO member and partner countries, to refine and strengthen operational capabilities in the planning and execution of operations in a multinational environment, and to develop multinational preparedness and security cooperation.
