The ambassador extended his condolences to the Georgian nation

Iran’s Ambassador to Georgia Seyed Ali Mojani has expressed condolences over the death of Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia.

Ambassador Mojani said he received the news with great sorrow, describing Ilia II as a spiritual leader and one of the architects of modern Georgian identity. He noted that the Patriarch’s name will remain in Georgia’s history as well as in the friendship between Iran and Georgia.

The ambassador extended his condolences to the Georgian nation.

Ilia II died on March 17 at the age of 93.
