Europe Day will be marked in Tbilisi on May 9 with a public event at Expo Georgia, celebrating more than 30 years of partnership between the European Union and the people of Georgia.
The EU representation in Georgia said the event is an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of EU-Georgia cooperation and to look ahead to the future, “hand in hand.”
This year’s celebration also marks the 75th anniversary of the 1950 Declaration by Robert Schuman, then French Foreign Minister – a historic moment that laid the foundation for what is now the European Union.
“In Georgia, the event serves as a reaffirmation of the EU’s continued commitment to supporting the people of Georgia”, the EU in Georgia said.
The official opening ceremony will take place in Pavilion 11 at 12:00.
