Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has signed a decree announcing his resignation from office.
According to Pashinyan, the move is a constitutional procedure, under which the outgoing government will formally submit its resignation to the president at the first session of the newly elected parliament.
He noted that the current cabinet will continue to exercise its полномочия and carry out its duties until a new government is formed.
Under Armenia’s Constitution, once the newly elected parliament convenes, the president is required to immediately appoint as prime minister the candidate nominated by the parliamentary majority.
