EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, stated that Georgia’s recent parliamentary elections confirm the country’s democratic regression. He accused the ruling Georgian Dream party of steering Georgia away from its European path and opposing the aspirations of its people.

“Georgia is no longer on the path to Europe. We want to see the country return to its European direction,” Borrell emphasized during the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels, where the situation in Georgia and the October 26 elections were discussed.
