The Czech Republic has imposed sanctions on Georgia’s Deputy Interior Minister Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, judges Koba Chagunava, Nino Galustashvili, Mikheil Jinjolia, and prosecutor Lasha Kotrikadze.

The Czech Foreign Ministry on Tuesday said the individuals targeted were considered responsible for violent interventions during last year’s and ongoing protest rallies against delayed EU integration in Georgia.

Sanctions bar the officials from entering the Czech Republic and prohibit any financial transactions with Czech entities. Any assets they hold in the country have also been frozen.
