Chiatura miners are taking their protest to Tbilisi and will gather today at 1:00 PM in front of the Ministry of Health. According to the organizers, the situation in the city had reached a “humanitarian crisis.”

One of the protesters called on the public to attend and hear firsthand about the conditions in Chiatura, the situation of the four detained miners, and the broader context of the crisis.

“We ask everyone to come at 1:00 PM to the Ministry of Health to learn about the current reality - both regarding the four detainees and the general situation in the country and its parallels with Chiatura,” the protester said.

The miners’ protests have been ongoing for 10 months.
