Director of Georgia's Central Criminal Police Department Davit Kiknadze has met the US Federal Bureau of Investigation attaché in Georgia to discuss cooperation between the two law enforcement agencies.
The talks focused on existing cooperation between the Georgian ministry and the FBI, opportunities to deepen their partnership, mechanisms for exchanging information, future joint projects and priority areas of cooperation.
The two sides also discussed efforts to combat transnational organised crime, cybercrime and other international challenges.
They reaffirmed their commitment to continuing cooperation and further strengthening the existing partnership, the ministry said.
At the end of the meeting, the FBI attaché thanked Kiknadze on behalf of the bureau's leadership for his longstanding cooperation, professionalism and contribution to international law enforcement cooperation, and presented him with a letter of appreciation.
