Georgia receives 147,700 Russian tourists in second quarter of 2022

Georgia received 147,700 Russian tourists,  which amounted to 19.3 percent of the total number, in the second quarter of this year, followed by Turkey with 14.9 percent and Armenia with 12.1 percent, the National Statistics Office of Georgia said on Monday. 

 

Geostat suggested that the number of arrivals of international non-resident travellers in the territory of Georgia in the reported period  equaled 1.04 million,  which was 198.7 percent higher compared to the data from the same period of previous year. 

 

“Most of the incomes, 47.0 percent, were made by travellers of 31-50 age groups”, said the agency. 

 

Geostat stated that 81.8 percent of international visitors were only tourists
