Ruling party Sec-Gen reaffirms Gov’t stance on non-imposing sanctions on Russia

Kakha Kaladze, the Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Wednesday reiterated the Government's refusal to impose individual sanctions on Russia for its ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

In his press comments, the official claimed such a move would harm “national interests” and the population.

“Tbilisi has joined international sanctions on Russia and we have been commended for the enforcement of the sanctions. On the other hand, why should the Government restrict the inflow of [Russian] tourists or the export of domestic products to the country? Such a move will harm our country and the people”, Kaladze said.
