Gareth Ward was asked to clarify the legal grounds for the sanctions, Georgian FM said

The British Ambassador to Georgia, Gareth Ward, om Thursday left the Ministry of Foreign Affairs without speaking to the media after being summoned to explain the UK government’s sanctions on Georgian TV channels Imedi and POSTV

Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili said the ambassador was asked to clarify the legal grounds for the sanctions, stressing that such measures must be backed by a firm legal basis.
