Strong winds in Batumi have caused significant damage, resulting in injuries to two pedestrians. The incident occurred on Gorgasali Street, near the Piazza area, where part of a residential roof reportedly collapsed and struck a couple walking nearby.

According to eyewitnesses, the wind tore off the roof of a residential building, which then fell on the couple. Both individuals were taken to a hospital, but their current condition remains unknown, as reported by the Emergency Management Service.

The area has been cordoned off with yellow tape, and relevant units from the Ministry of Internal Affairs are on site.

Due to the strong winds, parts of Batumi are reportedly experiencing power outages. The weather also disrupted air traffic, affecting a flight from Istanbul to Batumi, which was delayed in landing due to the conditions.

Additionally, a tree was uprooted by the wind on Gorgiladze Street.
