The Kvemo Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has arrested a 1988-born man, P.A., on suspicion of intentionally killing a family member.

The Ministry said on Friday investigation determined that the suspect inflicted multiple stab wounds on his wife, M.G., born in 2000, in Gardabani Municipality. The victim died at the scene from the sustained injuries.

The suspect voluntarily appeared at the police station and admitted to committing the crime. The weapon used, a knife, has been seized as evidence.

The crime provides for a penalty of up to 20 years imprisonment or life imprisonment.
