Georgian State Security Service Head Geka Geladze held a series of meetings in Yerevan with senior Armenian officials during his official visit to Armenia, focusing on bilateral cooperation and regional security challenges.
The State Security Service on Saturday said Geladze met with Armenian Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan, where the sides discussed cooperation between the two countries’ security structures and law enforcement agencies. The meeting highlighted the friendly relations and close partnership between Georgia and Armenia, with both sides reviewing areas of mutual interest and agreeing on the importance of deepening cooperation.
During a separate meeting with the Head of Armenia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Kristinne Grigoryan, the officials reviewed the security situation in the South Caucasus region. Geladze stressed the importance of close inter-agency cooperation amid global security challenges, while both sides confirmed readiness to further strengthen ties.
As part of the visit, Geladze also attended a joint event with Armenian National Security Service Director Andranik Simonyan at the Border Guard Service, where special forces conducted demonstration exercises, including tactical operations and simulated field training tasks.
Following the demonstrations, the security chiefs inspected specialised equipment and armoured vehicles used by special units. The visit concluded with a joint tribute at a memorial honoring fallen border guards, where both officials laid wreaths.
