Opposition leader Giorgi Vashadze has said opposition supporters will march from Tbilisi State University to Rustaveli Avenue on 26 May as part of planned Independence Day demonstrations in the capital.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Vashadze said participants would gather at 19:00 before moving towards Rustaveli Avenue, where protesters are expected to assemble.
“From what I can see today, many people will attend, many are coming,” he said, urging citizens to join the rally.
The opposition politician also said campaign marches would continue daily across different districts of Tbilisi in the run-up to 26 May.
“We are divided into different locations across the city. Tomorrow we will be somewhere else, and every day we will hold such marches throughout the city to meet as many people as possible, invite them to the 26 May gathering and offer universal unity,” Vashadze said.
Strategy Agmashenebeli is part of a broader opposition alliance organising events ahead of Georgia’s Independence Day celebrations.
