Russian forces strike Kyiv region with Oreshnik missile, killing four

Russian forces used an RS-26 Rubezh - Oreshnik - intermediate-range ballistic missile during overnight strikes on the Kyiv Oblast, killing four people in the city and surrounding region and injuring dozens.
Colonel Yurii Ihnat, the Head of the Communications Department for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said the missile was launched from the Kapustin Yar military training area in Russia. According to him, the Oreshnik missile struck the Bila Tserkva district in the Kyiv region.
Throughout the night, Russian forces carried out large-scale attacks on Kyiv and surrounding areas using ballistic missiles and attack drones.
According to the latest available information, at least two people were killed and more than 50 injured in the assault.
Hours before the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that American and European partners had warned Kyiv that Russia was preparing to launch an Oreshnik ballistic missile strike against Ukraine.
Zelenskyy urged residents to respond immediately to air raid alerts and seek shelter.
