Georgia’s State Security Service has recorded 23 illegal detentions and eight cases of “borderization” along the occupation line since the start of the year, officials said ahead of a scheduled Ergneti meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (EPRM).

Deputy Director of the SSS’s Information-Analytical Department, Irakli Antadze, on Monday noted that seven illegal detentions by Russian-controlled occupation forces occurred since the last meeting, and 11 detainees remain in custody.

The meeting will also discuss a recent incident involving minors detained near a village by the occupation line; authorities confirmed the children have returned home safely.

Discussions will focus on kidnappings, detentions, and the ongoing process of illegal borderization, with further details expected after talks with the responsible parties.
